Portrait of Jarno Cammaerts

I design software for people who use it all day, under pressure.

I've spent the past 5 years inside complex B2B products: lab software for molecular diagnostics, a global parts platform for industrial equipment, dealer tools for manufacturers. I work best where the data is dense, the users are specialists and a confusing screen costs real money.

Having a background in sales-demo and conversion work means the buyer gets as much attention as the operator: the product has to work on a Tuesday afternoon and in a forty-minute demo.

The useful conversations happen with product, sales and leadership: which customers matter most, what's slowing deals down, what support keeps answering. The design follows from that. Good UX that doesn't serve the strategy is decoration.

Approach

  1. Understand the work first.

Before I touch a screen I talk to the people who use the product and the people who sell, support and fund it. Interviews, workflow mapping, and the edge cases nobody documented.

  2. Embedded, not outsourced.

I join your Slack, standups and reviews. I work alongside product and engineering, not behind a handoff wall.

  3. Systems over screens.

Complex platforms need patterns that scale: tables, filters, states, permissions. I build the design system as I go so your team can keep shipping without me.

  4. Users and the business, in the same room.

Every design decision is a trade-off between what users need and what the business needs to grow. I make those trade-offs explicit, back them with evidence and design for both: the operator who uses the platform daily and the buyer deciding whether to sign.
